Fame Benson Boone Manga-Style Comic Book, Out Now!

In case you’re feeling let down because you didn’t get your Harry Styles tickets (I feel you), here’s another possible way  to kick start your heart.  TidalWave Comics has just added singer and pop phenomenon Benson Boone to its long-running FAME comic book biography series, and the result is… not exactly what you’d expect. FAME: Benson Boone, released this past week (January 28th), tells the story of Boone’s meteoric rise to stardom — but does so in a Japanese anime–inspired style that gives the singer an unexpectedly intense edge.

While visiting Los Angeles in December, I had the chance to see Jack Kirby: Heroes and Humanity at the Skirball Cultural Center — an exhibition that managed to be both deeply informative and genuinely fun. Rather than focusing solely on Kirby’s outsized influence on Marvel and DC, the show presented a fuller portrait of the artist: his Jewish upbringing on New York’s Lower East Side, his service in World War II, and the personal experiences that shaped his lifelong interest in heroism, justice, and moral responsibility. Marvel and Star Wars Mark Black History Month With New Variant Covers

To honor Black History Month, Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm return with a new set of Star Wars Black History Month variant covers, arriving on select titles throughout February.

This year’s collection features four striking covers by acclaimed Marvel artists Karen S. Darboe, Ken Lashley, Mateus Manhanini, and Ernanda Souza. Together, the works spotlight Black characters from across the Star Wars universe, spanning classic cinema, recent Disney+ series, and interactive storytelling. The release also coincides with the 10th anniversary of Star Wars’ return to Marvel Comics, underscoring a decade of renewed visual and narrative expansion.
