Marvel is bringing back its Black, White & Bloodformat with a new four-issue limited series, Black Widow: Black, White & Red Room, arriving in December 2026. The series puts Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow, and Yelena Belova, White Widow, in the spotlight while exploring the sinister Red Room program that helped turn them into deadly operatives.
Each issue will feature three stories: one starring Natasha, another featuring Yelena, and a third exploring the Red Room and the characters whose lives it shaped.
This summer, Marvel Comics is dialing the chaos all the way up with Queen in Black, a new five-issue crossover event that promises a full-on cosmic clash — with Earth stuck squarely in the danger zone.
Written by Al Ewing and illustrated by Iban Coello, Queen in Black #1 launches a story that pits two of Marvel’s most formidable forces against each other: Knull, the God of the Void, and Hela, the Asgardian ruler of the dead. When these two collide, it’s less “battle” and more “apocalyptic inevitability.”
Leave it to Deadpool to turn April Fool’s Day into a full-blown comic book event. This year, Marvel Comics is once again celebrating the Merc with a Mouth with April Pool’s Day, a playful, chaos-filled tribute arriving in comic shops alongside a special Deadpool: April Pool’s Day #1 one-shot. Although it’s a band that currently has but one of its original members — that being lead vocalist Brian Vander Ark — The Verve Pipe is a group that has remained near and dear to my heart for nearly 20 years. The band’s amazingly underrated 1996 album, Villains, is still one of my favorite albums of all time, and I have very fond memories of seeing the band live at places like Irving Plaza, and hanging out with them and another favorite, ill-fated RCA signing, Thin Lizard Dawn, many times.
