I stayed up way past my bedtime last night to watch the final episode of The Sopranos, which I had to record, because I was out at a Big Rock Show. And while I am seriously paying for it today in the not-enough-sleep department, I’m so glad I forced myself to watch it as soon as I staggered in the door instead of waiting until tonight, because it was just so good. I admit I was left sitting on my bed at the end going “What? What just happened? A friend of mine, Marc “The Slut” Slutksky, is a pretty darn good drummer. He played drums on Pink’s most recent record and, you know, the kid stays busy. Marc’s current gig involves playing drums in the backing band of singer Alexa Ray Joel. And unless you’ve been living your entire life under a pile of rocks, in a cave, beneath the ocean you know that Alexa is the daughter of Billy Joel and Christy Brinkley. For the past week, the Number One Search Phrase on the Worleygig.com stats page is “Paris Hilton in Gail” followed closely by “Paris Hilton and Gail” and is “Why is Paris Hilton in Gail” (why indeed?). When I first noticed this phenomenon I wondered to myself if Paris Hilton has a famous friend named Gail or if the populace had just gotten wind of a previous blog I posted about LA Rock band The Exies’ campaign to get that heiress of questionable mental capacity thrown in jail. Then I experienced an epiphany: obviously there is a whole population of morons with the knowledge of how to use Google who think that the word “jail” is spelled with a ‘g’ rather than a ‘j’! Exciting! Thanks to all you idiots out there for pumping up traffic to the site! Keep on keepin’ on!
A few years ago I was reading a great article about Neal Smith of Alice Cooper – one of my favorite Drummers – in Discoveries magazine. I loved the article, so I bought the magazine. Within a few days I was playing a show -and that is where I met Gail! I asked her “Are you THE Gail Worley who recently wrote an article on Neal Smith?” She said she was, and we've been friends ever since. I consider myself a friend / fan / stalker of Gail! But wait a minute – who stalked who? That is the magic of Gail Worley!
