Lost in Space was a popular sci-fi television series (1965 to 1968) that used Johann David Weiss’s 19th century novel Swiss Family Robinson as a template. The series imagined an overcrowded earth in the year 1997, with humans sent to space to colonize other planets.

While he is mainly known as a true icon of the fashion world, designer Jean Paul Gaultier has also spent more then two decades invested with furniture manufacturing. In collaboration with French furniture-maker, Roche Bobois, Gaultier has launched his “sexy and bedroom inspired” furniture collection, and the Roman chariot-inspired Ben Hur armchair belongs to this collection.

What kitchen or dining area would fail to make a statement with something like this in the room? The Chariot Rullebord (2012) is a mobile table/trolley consisting of three simple elements joined together: wheels, trays and structure. The wheels, which in common carts are usually small, are brought to the extreme size, becoming the iconic element of the project.
