Pink Thing of The Day: Bubble Gum Batman Variant

Batman has gone through countless incarnations over the years, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Caped Crusader looking quite this pink. This very cool Bubble Gum Batman is a special color variant of the DC Artists Alley Batman designed by artist and toy designer Joe Ledbetter. The figure was created by DC Collectibles in collaboration with Toy Tokyo as an exclusive for New York Comic Con 2019 (though I photographed this at NYCC in 2023, so there must have been at least one leftover). Ledbetter himself announced the release on his website, noting that only 500 pieces were produced and that the figure stands approximately 6.5 inches tall. Yes, It Exists: Comics on Coffee!

Coffee and comic books? Now that’s a crossover I can get behind. I spotted these ridiculously cool bags of Comics on Coffee at Anime NYC, featuring two of Gotham’s most famous residents: Batman and the Joker.

The Dark Knight Roast is a dark roast inspired by Batman, with chocolate and subtle fruit notes, while the Joker’s Blueberry Blast combines dark-roasted Nicaraguan espresso beans with a hint of sweet blueberry — my favorite! (and bonus points for the tagline: Insanely Good!)

Comics on Coffee (now apparently DBA as Heroic Coffee and Tea) has an entire DC-inspired lineup of flavors matched with your favorite heroes and villains including Superman, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow and more. Because sometimes, saving the world — or just surviving a day at a comic convention — requires caffeine.

Superman and Spider-Man Reunite in New One-Shot Arriving March 2026

Comic fans, prepare yourselves: two of pop culture’s most iconic heroes are swinging back into a shared universe. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the very first DC/Marvel crossover — the legendary Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man from 1976 — DC is releasing a brand-new one-shot, Superman/Spider-Man #1, arriving on March 25, 2026.

Earlier this year, DC Comics and Marvel Comics confirmed that their historic crossover partnership would continue into 2026. Now DC has unveiled the creative teams and cover art for the highly anticipated issue, which delivers not only a marquee team-up but an entire anthology of original crossover stories.
