OMG! How cool are these stained glass drums? Answer: So effing cool! While they are not playable, they sure do light up the room — quite literally! Stained glass artist Paul Heller created this gorgeous lighting fixture by emulating a four piece kit made up of a kick drum with two mounted rack toms and a floor tom, which appears to be a stand-alone unit. The Question is: Where Do You Take it for a Tune Up?
Other than finding a source (not necessarily the “original source”) for this image, not much else is known about the Drumkit Bathroom Fixtures seen above. It sure is a clever and well-executed idea though and would be both fun and functional to have in any musician or music fan’s bathroom. Another observation is that it doesn’t take up much space, therefore, it would make your bathroom look bigger.
This photo is pulled from an 1977 Slingerland Drum Advertisement for their custom wrap kit, where they’d make shell wraps with whatever image you wanted on them. I’m not sure if some clever drummer out there actually made a Coca Cola Kit, but the photo sure is cool!
