Every March, the international Housewares Association (IHA) hosts its massive International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago. This year’s show runs from March 2nd through 5th, but in January, there was a press preview in NYC, where I was able see all kinds of new gadgets and come back home with a huge bag of products to try for myself. Are you as sick and tired of looking at the likeness of He Who Will Not Be Named as you are of having to clean your dirty microwave oven?  I feel you. Recently, it fell to me to scrub exploded ham off of the interior of the office microwave (don’t get me started) and that was all kinds of not fun. As as much as I dislike being exposed to the face of the one I refer to only as Dump, let me tell you about the Angry POTUS Microwave Cleaner, where two evils come together for a good cause: getting dried crud off of your microwave’s walls while poking fun at the Dump. If you live in a NYC apartment, then you understand that the phrase Spring Cleaning doesn’t so much refer to a yearly ritual as it does to an ongoing process. Some type of deep-cleaning in one room or another is really necessary every couple of weeks in order to combat the dirt and grime that sneaks into the home from the street. Because it really is a jungle out there. Ugh. Don’t even get me started on the Sisyphean task of keeping the dust off of every interior surface, because it’s a pain in the butt.

Oh, how I love a modern product whose design riffs on a retro look! I spotted this adorable (and practical!) Melitta Heritage Series Pour-Over Coffeemaker at the recent IHA Show, and was instantly smitten: not only with its millennial Pink color, but also by the vintage glazed porcelain design! Wow!
