When Marc Quinn studied art history in the 1980s, he became enamored with Dutch flower painting of the 16th and 17th centuries. These painters were obliged to wait for each flower to come into season before painting it into their compositions, culminating, and images of ideal but impossible bouquets.

After making his first frozen blood head Self (1991), contemporary British artist Marc Quinn continued to experiment with his own refrigerated likeness. A Secret Affair: Selections from the Fuhrman Family Collection at Flag Art Foundation

What an amazing treat it is to have Flag Art Foundation founder Glenn and his wife Amanda Furhman share a selection of sculptures and assorted artworks from their own private collection with fans of their very cool gallery. Geoffrey and I attended the opening reception on Saturday (in the middle of a snow storm!) and were just blown away by an amazing collection that looks like it belongs in a museum. Here are a few of our favorite pieces!
