Blonde Girl With Glasses

As a wearer of eyeglasses since I was practically an egg, it is always exciting for me to go shopping for new frames that are cool and sleek but not too crazy.

Frontman Frames

Lofi Dub Flux Frames

Arnette has an amazing selection of gorgeous frames that are just my style. What’s also fun is that the styles are named for familiar vocabulary from the music / recording industry.

Sub Roadie Producer Frames

Guests enjoyed complimentary beer and wine, and snacks, while renowned street artist, Samir Evol performed a live art installation.

Detune Frames
The Red Ones in the back are the Frames I Chose

Everyone who brought in an eyeglass prescription got to choose a pair of optical frames (to be filled and shipped later) or a cool pair of sunglasses! I can’t wait to receive mine!

Gail and Anne Photo Booth

Anne and I also captured the moment in a complimentary photo booth while DJ Becka Diamond provided tunes behind the decks.

Thanks again, Arnette, for the fun party and cool new glasses!

Warp Records Previews New Eno CD, Lux, In Midtown Church

Lux Brian Eno Cover Art

The Church for All Nations on West 57th Street was the super secret location for  today’s premiere US listening event for Brian Eno’s upcoming new album, entitled Lux. Lux is Eno’s first solo album on Warp Records and his first solo album since 2005’s Another Day On Earth. If you are familiar with Eno’s classic ambient works, such as Music For Films, Music For Airports and Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks then the themes and sonic textures of Lux will sound very familiar to you. It certainly reminded me a lot of Music for Airports crossed with a denser ambient work such as Jeff Pierce’s The Hidden Rift, which is one of my favorite atmospheric albums.

According to Warp Record’s website, Eno sees the album as a continuation of his Music for Thinking project that includes Discreet Music (1975) and Neroli (1993).

The album is broken down into four sections as follows:

Track Listing
1. LUX 1 (19:22)
2. LUX 2 (18:14)
3. LUX 3 (19:19)
4. LUX 4 (18:28)

Lux will be released in the US on CD and as a Download on November 13th, 2012, and on Vinyl LP on December 10th, 2012.

Tanked Logo

Do you like Aquariums? I sure do. So, I wanted to let you know that Friend of The Worley Gig Vince Kelly and his amazing custom aquarium business, GoFish Aquariums (located near Chicago) will be featured on an upcoming episode of the Animal Planet series Tanked this Saturday, August 25th! Aquarium lovers especially should check out the show or set your DVRs, because Tanked is an unbelievably cool program. You will not believe the outrageous home Aquariums these guys design and build!

In this Saturday’s episode, the Tanked crew work with GoFish on the installation of a 3,000 gallon tank! Holy Mackerel! All I know is that the tank was designed for and installed in a business and required some architectural restructuring to get it in place, so you will have to watch the show to get the lowdown. Tanked airs Saturdays at 9:00 PM Eastern and Pacific, 8:00 PM Central. Check your local listings for the channel in your area. See a video preview of the episode below!

Keeping the “Fun” in your functional office wardrobe can be a challenge, especially when you often leave work and go directly to a social event such as a party, concert or gallery opening. You need to look professional for your day gig but you also want be comfortable and maintain a bit of edgy style for your evening look, without having to bring a change of clothes to the office. Fashion Bug is an established and popular clothing retailer that appears to have this scenario in mind with classic yet contemporary designs for their upcoming Fall 2011 collection, which they previewed last week at the Ace Hotel in Manhattan.

Hosted in one of the hotel’s luxury loft suites, Fashion Bug presented representative styles from both their casual wear collection – ranging from jean to dresses – alongside smart-looking and versatile office separates such as tailored slacks and knit tops paired with shorter length jackets, slim skirts and a variety of dresses that strike a perfect balance between the desk and the Disco.

Offering the much-sought-after one-stop shopping experience, Fashion Bug’s distinctive look includes a wide selection of footwear (boot and shoes), casual outerwear, hand bags and very fashionable costume jewelry. But I think what really sets Fashion Bug apart from other fashion clothing retailers are their extremely affordable prices (most separates are in the $30 – 50 range) and the “realistic” size offerings that go from size 6 to 30. While these fall fashions won’t be available for a few months, you can check out what Fashion Bug has to offer right now at This Link.
