It is known in some circles that, back in my Rock Journalist days,  my very first in-person interview was with the walking enigma that is Marilyn Manson. The not-yet Antichrist Superstar was 24 years old the time time and I was much younger than I am now. Despite the fact that he is not so well-liked these days — owing to certain abhorrent behavior which we do not condone by the inclusion of this likeness of him as this week’s Pink ThingManson was very polite to me and an excellent interview subject on whom to ‘cut my teeth,’ as they say. Too bad he turned out to be such a dick.

Hopefully, we can all agree that the person depicted in this week’s Pink Thing sucks wildly, amiright?  Yes indeed, I am no fan of Vladimir Putin, and for that reason I take great delight in presenting to you Pink Putin (2018) from artist Scott Scheidly — whose work is just fantastic — because Putin would no doubt hate it very much.

Pink Thing of The Day: Pink David Bowie Glamour Shot

This week’s Pink Thing comes from the incredibly talented Florida-based artist Scott Scheidly, and his latest series of hyper-realist portraits, which he calls Glamour Shots. Part of Scheidly’s ongoing Pink Series, Glamour Shots consists of vibrantly painted satirical portraits in which the artist depicts celebrities and notorious politicians dressed in hues of pinks and purples.
