Video Clip Of The Week: Chris Cornell, “When Bad Does Good”

I never felt the urge to embrace “Grunge” as a fashion trend or social movement, but there is no arguing the fact that a number of the bands associated with that era remain favorites of mine to this day. The music of Soundgarden, in particular, was life-changing for me, and was a huge influence on my early writing career. And I’m not embarrassed to admit that I had a ridiculous crush on vocalist Chris Cornell — but who didn’t? He was truly beautiful — the definition of a Rock God, if you ask me – and his sudden passing in May of 2017 was devastating on many levels. This week, we will pay homage to Chris with the new Video Clip for “When Bad Does Good,” which provides the soothing comfort for a heartache that you may not even realize you had. Video Clip of The Week: Dhani Harrison, “All About Waiting”

To many of us, Sunday morning means listening to the syndicated radio program, Breakfast with the Beatles, so it is appropriate to use this space to debut a new video by Dhani Harrison — the son of my favorite Beatle, George Harrison — whose song “All About Waiting” soundtracks an engaging, animated Sci-Fi mystery.

This fantstic-looking music video depicts a futuristic world, overly developed with machinery and computers, echoing Harrison’s contemplative lyrics “revolution, evolution, patience, revolution, evolution, wasted,” in a setting filled with scenes of both natural and human-influenced disasters impacting the landscape. The protagonist of the video, a DNA scientist, reaches an apparent point of opposition to her colleagues upon the realization that her efforts may be causing more harm than good, and then pursues an ill-fated attempt to bring her discovery to light with her colleagues and team leaders.

You’ll have to watch the video — which was directed and animated by Adam Osgood, with additional illustrations from A. D’Amico and hand-drawn animation by Sarah Schmidt — to find out what happens next!

“All About Waiting” can be found on Harrison’s latest album, In Parallel, which is out now! Enjoy!

H&M Holiday 11: Bryan Ferry from MP CREATIVE on Vimeo

Former Roxy Music front man Bryan Ferry and his handsome son Tara, star in this commercial for H&M clothing stores, soundtracked by a cover of Duran Duran’s “Girls On Film.” Now I’ve seen everything.

I love this photo  of Sean Lennon and Dhani Harrison from early 2011. You can really see how much they both resemble their fathers!

Fiction Plane at the Mercury Lounge: What a Great Show!

Fiction Plane Vocalist Joe Sumner

Everyone who knows me is aware of how difficult it can be to get me to leave my house to attend a mid-week rock show. Unless food is involved, it is usually not going to happen. The reasons for this are two-fold. First of all, any band whose set time starts later than 9:00 PM is automatically eliminated from consideration, because if I’m not in bed asleep by 11:30 PM I turn into a pumpkin. Secondly, I honestly hate 90% of all music recorded after 1985. Just being serious.
