On occasion, there will be an article in the paper or online about a person who inadvertently falls down an open manhole or (and this is especially fun if there is Video Documentation) trips and stumbles into a fountain in the middle of a busy shopping mall, because he or she is so enraptured with gazing dreamily at his or her smart phone that they forget to watch where they are going. I was in Williamsburg this morning, on my way to see Kara Walker’s Sugar Sphinx in the abandoned Domino Sugar Factory, when I passed this fun stencil street art somewhere on Bedford Avenue. I don’t know who the artist is, but the appropriation of the “I Love NY” logo is very clever, and definitely makes you do a double-take!
