Nipper, a Counterstrike map-hacker, has devised an incredibly detailed reproduction of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. According to sci-fi author Cory Doctorow over at Boing Boing Dot Net “Nipper’s packed a jaw-dropping amount of detail into the map, even down to various behind-the-scenes sections, and has creatively improved some of the slacker moments in the ride, such as a set of Eschereqsue staircases to one side of the otherwise boring stair-climb. The only thing that could make this better would be modeling ALL the backstage areas, so you could tear through the break rooms and maintenance areas with your giant guns, hunting your fellow players.” I spent a lot of time at Disneyland as a kid and I can testify that this looks just like the real thing. Scary!

Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Hot Cha Cha Cha
While passing time over at Plastic and Plush, I came across this delightful pink vinyl toy called Hot Cha Cha Cha, by artist Gary Baseman. This special Pink edition figure is strictly limited to 500 units worldwide and comes in an individually-numbered package that’s a work of art in itself. Retails for $99.95. Sounds a bit pricey to me. Your mileage may vary.
Death Metal Band Logos
When I saw the above graphic, featuring a collection of black and death metal band logos, I immediately recalled my reaction every time I open a package of promo CDs from Earache, and chagrin to myself over how impossibly difficult it is to even decipher the name of the band. Hilariously enough, Viceland.com discusses this very phenomena in an Interview with Christophe Szpajdel, a 37-year-old Belgian artist living in the UK. During the last 20 years, Szpajdel has designed more than 7,000 logos, mostly for black and death metal bands from all over the world, including Emperor, Moonspell, Nachtmystium and Enthroned. Nearly as entertaining as the interview itself are the passionately dimwitted comments from readers. Enjoy!
Just in Time for Holiday Gift Giving: Keep Your Loved Ones Warm with a Bacon Scarf!

Bacon Scarf Contains No Actual Bacon!
It’s 27 degrees here in New York right now, and that’s really fucking cold! If there’s one thing you need to be wearing under your coat when you go outside, it’s a warm scarf! What great timing it is then that Etsy.com is offering for sale this very realistic looking, custom made, hand felted bacon scarf . According to the item description, “The loose red, pink, and white merino wool has been welt felted with warm, soapy water and agitated to hold its shape. Nothing is sewn, knitted, or crocheted. It measures between 6-8″ wide and 44-48″ long. This is an approximation since this scarf – much like real bacon – is not a true rectangular shape. It looks like a real slice of bacon, with the striations of fat and meat. It’s kind of gross and awesome at the same time.” I love it. Scarf sells for $120 each. What a bargain!
Pink Thing of The Day: A Rad Modern Chair
Presented for all the ladies in the house: The Living Chair! Clearly inspired by the human form of a female and holding itself with only three skinny yet sexy legs, it’s surprisingly sturdy and functional. Even more than that, it’s a sleek and glamorous piece of art just by sitting there. Yes, the Chair is literally sitting there! Design by Vladimir Tzesler and Sergei Voichenko.
