It’s no secret that 2023‘s hugely successful Barbie: The Movie, directed by Greta Gerwig, broke box office records and became a global pop-culture touchstone. To create their vision of Barbie’s famous home, set designer Sarah Greenwood and decorator Katie Spencer drew upon the history of the DreamHouse while bringing the interiors to life with pieces by contemporary designers such as Adam Nathaniel Furman , whose whimsical Glowbule Staccato Floor Lamp is seen in the film.
Part of an exciting set of glass sculptural light pieces called the Glowbule Collection, the lamp is a collaboration between Furman and Esther Patterson, designer and founder of UK based glass lighting manufacturer, Curiousa.
For the Staccato Floor Lamp, each segment is individually free-blown in semi-opaque glass, meticulously ground and married together, creating a beautiful and continuous linear glow that marks the character of each of these pieces. The lamp is available for UK-only delivery unless otherwise arranged.
Photographed as Part of Barbie: The Exhibition at the Design Museum in London.
