Back in February 2023, I first shared my discovery of Scott’s Protein Balls, a snack that stood out for being indulgently delicious while still plant-based, low in calories, and free of the usual fillers and preservatives you find in many protein snacks. With their soft, cookie-dough-like texture and dessert-inspired flavors, they quickly became one of my favorite guilt-free ways to curb cravings.

Fast-forward to now, and I’ve had the chance to revisit Scott’s Protein Balls with a new sampler box that includes both familiar favorites and brand-new varieties. The verdict? They’re better than ever — still fresh, fridge-stored, and protein-packed, with an expanded lineup of flavors to keep things interesting.

One of the things that originally set Scott’s Protein Balls apart was their fresh, refrigerated format — these aren’t dry, shelf-stable protein bars. They’re made with wholesome ingredients like oat flour, flax, and chia, and remain 100% plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and non-GMO.  Each serving still clocks in at under 100 calories per ball, but now you’ll find even more protein power  (up to 7 grams per serving in certain flavors, like Brownie Batter).

The company also continues to give back, donating a portion of every sale to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation — a mission that makes you feel good about enjoying this product.

Here’s the scoop on the flavors I tried in this latest batch:

Chocolate Peanut Latte: A grown-up twist with velvety peanut butter and subtle coffee notes. Perfect for mornings when you want a little pick-me-up with your snack.
Confetti: Still the life of the party. With a soft, cake-like consistency and a touch of sweetness, this flavor has all the fun of Birthday Cake without the sugar crash.
Peanut Butter Cacao: A classic flavor combo that never fails. Creamy peanut butter meets rich cacao in a balanced, satisfying bite.
Cinnamon Almond Butter: Cozy and comforting, this one layers smooth almond butter with just the right amount of warm cinnamon spice.
Brownie Batter: My original favorite still holds its ground. Fudgy, chewy, and deeply chocolaty, it tastes like sneaking a spoonful straight from the mixing bowl — only with added protein and none of the guilt.
Mint Chocolate Chip: Cool, refreshing, and reminiscent of mint chocolate chip ice cream, this flavor delivers a refreshing twist with bits of chocolate for texture.

Nearly three years after my first review, I’m happy to report that Scott’s Protein Balls are still a winner. They remain a snack that feels indulgent but supports your health goals, with flavors that range from nostalgic sweetness to decadent chocolate to refreshing mint.

Whether you’re after a quick breakfast bite, a mid-afternoon treat, or a pre/post-workout boost, there’s truly something for every craving.  Knowing the company is committed to clean ingredients and charitable giving just makes them taste even better.
