Eye On Design: Marc Jacobs + Takashi Murakami Daisy Perfume Collaboration

While browsing in the perfume section at Nordstrom recently, I spotted something that immediately caught my attention.  The two creative minds of designer Marc Jacobs and Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami have joined forces for Daisy Murakami, giving Jacobs’ familiar Daisy fragrance a decidedly Murakami makeover. Major squee.

Murakami is known for his colorful, smiling, multi-petaled flowers, and here his signature motif takes over the Daisy bottle in the most delightful way.

Instead of simply putting a flower graphic on the packaging, the flowers become a three-dimensional part of the bottle’s oversized cap. The little burst of colorful sculpture sitting on top of the fragrance instantly becomes a piece of collectible art.

The limited-edition collection comes in four different bottle colors — yellow, pink, green, and blue (not shown) — with each bottle and its flower-covered cap coordinated to create its own distinct color story.  Daisy Murakami was introduced as a limited edition beginning in late 2025.

The collaboration is particularly noteworthy because it brings together two artists with very different backgrounds who share an unmistakable appreciation for playful, pop-infused design. Jacobs’ Daisy has always had a youthful, whimsical personality, while Murakami’s Superflat aesthetic famously blurs the boundaries between contemporary art, fashion, popular culture, and commercial design.

Seeing these Daisy bottles in person made me think less about perfume and more about collecting. They’re the sort of objects that could easily move from the vanity to the display shelf once the perfume is gone simply because the bottle itself is fun to look at and will surely become a valuable collectors’ item.
