When a new closeout store opened in my neighborhood a few months back, I suspected it would provide an excellent source for finding this site’s weekly Pink Thing of the Day, and I was, of course, correct. This 4-item Pink Fantasy fragrance and body care collection, which smells like ‘pink fantasy’ I suppose, was on sale for just $6.99!   Considering it is a limited edition, I’d say that is quite a bargain!

What initially looks like a wheat paste ad for Wear a Mask perfume is actually a street art project from real-life perfume company D.S. & Durga. But is it really just an ad, or is it an artsy public service announcement? The burning question being: Is Wear a Mask eau de parfum a thing that exists? I can’t get a straight answer on that.

Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Perfume Bottle With Mickey Mouse Ears

People will frequently ask me, “Gail Where Do You Find The Stuff That You Post for the Pink Thing Of The Day Column?” And I will tell them “I Find Them Everywhere!” Case in point: this Jeff Koons-esque mirrored Fuchsia Pink Perfume Bottle with Mickey Mouse Ears on its cap was found by me one rainy morning last week, peeking out from a box of toys that were perched atop the sealed trash bin in front of the Chickpad’s gate. A stroll through the Google tells me the that it is called Kiddy Girl — or sometimes My Way Kiddy Girl — Perfume. Yes, it is For Kids. Also, most of the bottles whose images I saw online have a logo printed on the bottle; so, how lucky was I to find one that is is such pristine, unmarked condition? So lucky, that is for sure.

Video Clip of The Week: The Coathangers, “Perfume”

The end of summer is always bitter-sweet. *Sigh*. So, let’s liven the mood a bit with this a softly rocking tune from Atlanta-based garage rockers, The Coathangers, who are making an encore appearance on this here rad blog with their thematically seductive video for “Perfume.”

As the beguiling Coathanger ladies lounge and frolic on the beach, or cruise leisurely down an inlet canal, the lyrics, “Summer stole the perfume from my eyes” tells you all you need to know about the seasonal transition that leaves us all feeling a bit wistful. The Coathangers have been descirbed as Stiff Little Fingers on Diazepam, meets the Pixies, meets the Dandy Warhols. I cant really do better than that, so let’s just let that smoldering ember sit a bit, and cool off. Hit me!

“Perfume” can be found on the band’s latest EP, Parasite, which is out now on Suicide Squeeze Records! Enjoy!
