Ode to Kenley Collins

Inspired by last night’s episode of Project Runway

Sung to the tune of “Brandy” by Looking Glass

There’s a girl, in this harbor town
and she works, stitching clothes and gowns.
They say, “Kenley, don’tcha whine and frown”
She makes them a bubble skirt.
The tailors say “Kenley, you’re a fine girl
What a good designer you would be
But your voice makes Nina Garcia
Leave the set.”

(dooda-dit-dooda), (dit-dooda-dit-dooda-dit)

Kenley, does her Bettie Page
Jet black hair, the 1940s rage.
Silk flower, pinned up in her hair
And blood red lipstick, too.

He left, on a summer’s day
In a tugboat, going far away
He made it clear, he couldn’t stay
No harbor was his home.”

Confession: I found these lyrics – unaccredited – on some fan board earlier today and changed them up a bit! If you are the original writer let me know and I’ll give you props!)

Vote for "That One"

Wow, didn’t John McCain give the shoddiest, most shamefully embarrassing of all performances at the debate the other night? Doddering around the stage like Skeletor, using that “Drinking Game Worthy” buzz-phrase “My Friends” ad nauseum, avoiding addressing any issue, referring to Barack Obama as “That one” and even refusing to shake Obama’s hand at the end of the debate. What a total low class douche bag. The funny thing is how the Obama campaign and supporters have already put a spin on McCain’s disrespectful insult by creating “I’m voting For That One” T-Shirts and stickers. Way to run with it! That One 08!!!

Happy Birthday to Sean and John Lennon

I think it’s pretty cool that Sean Lennon was born on his father’s birthday, October 9th, so that now that John is gone, they still have this day of connection. Sean Lennon (born in 1975) is 33 years old today. John (born in 1940) would have been 68.

Katamari Themed Stuff!

katmari wedding cake topper

Did you ever play the video game Katamari Damacy? Where the tiny little Prince of All Cosmos has to roll a katamari (essentially a big, sticky ball that attaches itself to anything it rolls over) across all kinds of stuff and then launch it all up in the sky to make new stars and thus appease his abusive, drunken Dad, the King? It is the most fun game. I really suck at it but that doesn’t mean it’s not crazy fun! Lots of people love Katamari, and that is why they make Katamari Damacy Wedding Cake Toppers (seen above) and Katamari Damacy Cakes and even Bizarro Katamari Hats to celebrate their love. Pictures after the jump!
