No matter how full I am from eating a meal, 90% of the time, I want dessert. Because that is how roll.

Brother Jimmy’s BBQ is a place that will likely leave you feeling very satisfied after a meal of their ribs, chicken and other specialties – because their food is amazing. But on future visits you might have a more challenging time saying no to one of their home baked sweet treats, because they have just created a New Dessert Menu on which every pie, cake and ice cream creation is delicious. I know, because I tasted everything. Continue reading Brother Jimmy’s BBQ Announces New Desserts & Boozy Beverages→
Last night, Geoffrey and I did a modified a mid-week art crawl that included a stop at Flag Art Foundation on West 25th Street before heading off to the upper east side to scope out new art by David Zink Yi at Hauser & Wirth and, not long after that, scurrying off to their boss after show party held at The East Wing – where we were served party foods that were just insane! Props to Hauser & Wirth for knowing how to throw a bash!
But backing up just a bit, when we arrived at Flag Art, we noticed a pretty groovy looking ice cream truck called the Coolhaus Truck (like Cool Haus Architecture, but for frozen treats) parked at the curb out front. Geoffrey and I made a personal commitment to buy their ice cream once we returned from seeing the art. Well, what a glorious surprise it was to find that the nice folks at Flag Art (who, on a previous visit actually “scolded” me for 1. Having my bag too close to the art, and 2. Looking at the art too intently. So not kidding) were giving each exhibit attendee a card for one free gourmet ice cream sandwich from the Coolhaus Truck! Flag Art Foundation!
This is what they look like
Can I just tell you that these ice cream sandwiches, which you can create to your personal bacchanalian preference from a ridiculous selection of home baked cookies and gourmet ice creams, are SO DELICIOUS – so fucking delicious– that you will want to lay down right on the sidewalk and just die from the pleasure of eating one. I am not exaggerating at all. When a piece of my chocolate chip cookie sandwich broke off and fell onto my arm, Geoffrey actually ate the cookie off of my arm! Best ice cream sandwiches, ever. Even though we got ours for free we totally would have paid the $5, which is what they cost.
Visit the fine website of Coolhaus to read some nice blogs about their pleasure coma-inducing ice cream sandwiches and find out when the truck will be in your neighborhood.
