You might recall reading a bit about NYC’s newest selfie-farm, Candytopia, in this post, so I’ll skip the formal introduction and just get to the part where I found this Pink Refrigerator Case in their gift shop, which holds reusable bottles of Candytopia-branded water that sell for just $2 (“Two Dollars!”). Pink Thing Of The Day: Miniature Pink Clawfoot Bathtub
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, then you might recall that I recently attended an art event at the National Museum of Mathematics (aka MoMath). On the way out of the museum that evening, I decided to pop in to the gift shop, where I noticed something at first seems a bit incongruous: a tiny Pink Bathtub . . . that was in use as a bin to hold little soaps shaped like the Pi symbol. Pink Thing Of The Day: Pink Glass Elephant
I spent an extended Pride Weekend relaxing at a friend’s vacation home in The Hamptons. Activities mostly involved us floating in the pool, eating, and then taking long walks to work off whatever we had just eaten or were about to eat. We also did some driving to nearby hamlets like East Hampton, West Hampton, and Sag Harbor, which is the location of the gift shop where I found this Pink Glass Elephant. I have no idea of the price, but I can guarantee you it was not cheap.
Shark Attack Magnet!
NYC’s Covid numbers have been way down for over a month now (#nystrong), which means that the city’s cultural institutions are reopening — and no one is happier about that than me! We recently celebrated the 40th Birthday of a close friend by visiting the American Museum of Natural History on its reopening day, and we had all kinds of crazy, socially-distanced-and-masked-up fun. It was in the gift shop near the Dinosaur exhibits that we spotted this fun Shark Attack magnet. Be careful not to get your hands near his mouth, because he is HANGRY!
