Welcome to your second Holiday Season of rocking a mask to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Masking-up is such a part of everyday life now, it doesn’t even seem weird anymore. If you are like me and are mostly wearing the KN95 or blue medical mask, it’s fun to dress those up by layering them with one of the many colorful Pomchies masks I have in my Mask Wardrobe (which is now a thing). Let’s look at some of the seasonal ways you can coordinate  your “leaving  the house” look by matching your mask to your hair accessories with new looks for the holidays from Pomchies.

Fall weather is slowly creeping into NYC, which means fashionable ladies are thinking about layering-up, integrating heavier fabrics into their wardrobes, and maybe adding a tartan plaid to a traditionally muted seasonal color palette. From the look of it alone, one might assume that this voluminous design by designer Rei Kawakubo is from a fall line, but you would be mistaken.

Video Clip of the Week: Plaid, “Wallet”

It’s hard to believe that the electronica duo, Plaid have been around almost as long as I’ve been writing about music. And yet, it’s true.

Plaid released its latest album, Reachy Prints (Warp Records) in mid-May along with this hypnotic video for the track “Wallet,” which was directed by Sabrina Ratté. Ratté offers that, “the video is inspired by the idea of creating a world based on memories, where things seem real but they are in fact a construction of the mind. All the images are made from electronic signals, from which were created a reproduction of a sun, different landscapes and cities. The musical composition induced the vision of bright colors and daylight atmosphere, so the simulated sunlight became a central element of the video, thus creating dazed images where everything is diffused and hard to grasp.”
