In this age of downloading all music purchases from the Internet, it’s easy to forget how much fun it can be to browse the weird, music-related shit that can be found in a good, old fashioned record store. I was wandering aimlessly in Rough Trade Records of Williamsburg, Brooklyn when I spotted this neato- thing that exists: a Residents Classic Eyeball Limited Edition Bobblehead! Pink Thing of the Day: Pink Mayor McBlob and Friends

Pink Mayor McBlob
How Do You Do? (Photo By Gail)

You may remember Mayor McBlob from his previous appearance on The Gig in This Post. Well, he’s back, and he’s this week’s Pink Thing. This time, he has a couple of his friends with him: a Pink Mayor McBlob Resin Pin and a tiny Mayor McBlob Phone Charm, which is too cute to be believed.

Mayor McBlob was created by a fantastic lady artist named Sciamellis, who is located in Santiago, Chile, but she sells her creations online via her LoveCats Collectibles Etsy Store. If you want to do some shopping and maybe give him a home, sometimes she even offers free shipping!

Rad Thing of The Day: Miss Mary Jane Collectible Figure

Pot Head

When I first laid my baby blues on Miss Mary Jane, a limited edition, resin figure designed by artist Paige “Paigey” Pumphrey and manufactured by Patch Together, I thought I was looking at a little alien pixy with a massive broccoli floweret for hair. But closer investigation revealed what should have been obvious from the start: Mary Jane’s hair is huge bud of pot, duh. Furthermore, her adorable hooded jumpsuit is actually a Ziplock baggie, how appropriate! Miss Mary Jane is 8-inches tall when fully assembled (some gluing is involved) and sells for $59.95. While they currently appear to be sold out, you can request a re-stock at This Link.
