I’ve been reviewing a variety of super tasty and innovative healthy snacks just recently, and the snack I’m featuring today is one of my favorites: the new and insanely delicious crunchy Tomato Chips from Just Pure Foods. When I was first pitched these chips, I envisioned a potato chip flavored with tomato, but once they arrived and I opened the package, I realized I was not even close.
Just Pure Foods Tomato Chips — made from 100% dehydrated fresh tomato slices — are as crunchy and flavorful as any snack chip on the market. These vegetable chips check all the boxes when it comes to healthy, guilt-free snacking by being not only delicious but also vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, allergen-free, calorie conscious, keto friendly, non-GMO and responsibly farmed — wow!
They look a little funky all piled in a bowl, but wait until you pop one in your mouth and your brain explodes with delight from the delicious goodness. Then you will be thanking me for turning you on to such a fun and tasty snack that will not make you fat. You’re welcome.
Here’s a close up of the Tomato Cheese Chips, which are my favorite of the three varieties they make. You can see that they look just like what they are: dehydrated tomato slices with little bits of plant-based cheese on them. OMG so good.
Check out these facts: besides boosting your metabolism, tomatoes contain important nutrients and anti-inflammatory compounds, according to Just Pure Foods founder, Dr. Scott Feldman. Since these chips are are low-temperature dried (not baked or fried) all enzymes and nutrients are kept intact. Each package has only 50 or 60 nutritious calories. Now that is smart snacking.
Just Pure Foods Tomato Chips come in two other flavors including spicy Jalapeño Tomato Chips, which have dehydrated jalapeño bits on them, for those who love the burn of flaming hot Cheetohs but are trying to make healthier food choices (I respect you).
For BBQ chips fans, please try the Barbecue Tomato Chips, which are seasoned just right. It’s noteworthy that these healthy alternative snacks are made by up-cycling tomatoes that would have otherwise been plowed under because they are not the right size or shape, or have ripened too early. Yay!
Just Pure Foods Tomato Chips are available on Amazon in an 8-pack for $19.99, and are shipped in recycled packaging. If you live in California, you can find them on the shelves at Ralphs and Bristol Farms stores.
