The New Allen (#TheNewAllen) is an on-going public art project where different street artists are commissioned to paint murals on the walls and the storefront gates along Allen Street between Canal and Houston (where Allen turns into First Avenue). This one, done in the very distinctive style of South Carolina-based muralist Patch Whisky (real name Rich Miller) was spotted on the west side of Allen adjacent to number 129. I think this piece is called the Candy Bandit, but I am not sure. Anyway, I love it.

Patchwhisky and Ghostbeard Mural
Here’s another one of #TheNewAllen project murals, this one being located on the west side of Allen just above Delancey Street. This one is a collaboration between two street artists, Patch Whisky and Ghost Beard, who have worked together previously on murals in other US cities.
“Don’t Call Me Baby” Mural
I wish I had gotten to this mural before the D-Bag taggers did. Don’t Call Me Baby by Baron Von Fancy is part of #TheNewAllen murals project on the store fronts along Allen Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. You can see many of them if you take the M15 Bus route south of Houston Street!
NOTE: Since this photo was taken, the mural has been repainted with identical text, but with different florescent colors highlighting each word.
