Five Points Fest did not really have a ton of cosplayers running around, at least not on the day I attended, but this dedicated fan of the animated TV show Steven Universe definitely stopped me in my tracks, dressed as they were as the likeness of Rose Quartz, a character from that show. Oh, the Pinkness.

I saw this little guy in the Barnes and Noble shop in Union Square, and was so tickled by his name alone that I had to snap a photo for the sole purpose of featuring him in this week’s Yes, It Exists column. From what I can garner off the interwebs, Mr. Poopy Butthole is character on the Adult Swim cartoon series, Rick & Morty, which I have only just started watching. Jamie and I were out at Coney Island to see the Fireworks on the Friday before the Friday before the Labor Day Weekend. As we sat eating hot dogs and fries at the boardwalk-adjacent tables by the Nathan’s that faces the beach, I noticed a Pink Panther earning some cash by posing for photos with tourists. Because a panther’s gotta make a living.

Dr. Martens has partnered with LA-based artist, Gary Baseman, to design collectible, limited editions of Doc Martens footwear, featuring Baseman’s popular characters, Toby and Hot Chachacha. Sweet.

Baseman has also designed a shoe featuring the Hieronymus Bosch-influenced devilish imp, Hot Chachacha.

There are also Baseman-designed T-Shirts to match the shoes.
