I just love rad furniture. I wish I could afford a gigantic house that I could decorate and fill with all of the amazing furniture I see out there, like this illuminated Disco Chair, which is just insane. New York, NY, July 11 – St. Louis garage rockers Living Things are about to appear as one of their hero bands, The Ramones in the now-filming The Runaways, the biopic about the groundbreaking 70’s all-girl hard rock group led by Joan Jett. Disco Fries Night Fever
Last night I was making the scene at Heavy Metal Happy Hour at Arrow Bar, enjoying a refreshing 2-for-1 Vodka Cranberry special, banging my head slightly to some vintage Maiden and chatting with the Rev Dave from The Great Burger Conquest. Rev was sharing a few stories of the latest tasty burgers to make it onto his blog when the subject of Disco Fries came up. For those of you who have never known the pleasure, Disco Fries are french fries covered with gravy and melted cheese (sometimes the gravy can also be served on the side for dipping). Mmmm . . . I wish I had a big plate of Disco Fries right now.
With the fuel situation the way it is these days (high prices, shortages, etc) and the ubiquitous emphasis on living as Green as possible, biking to work has become a popular option for suburbanites and those living in urban areas lacking the great public transportation system we enjoy here in NYC.
Last Spring, Geoffrey and I had a blast visiting the Guggenheim museum to see their pop art exhibit. In one of the lower level galleries they had installed a multicolored, LED disco floor that we particularly enjoyed, as it quickly induced fun hallucinations and flashbacks just by looking at it. Good times. You can probably imagine then how much joy I experienced when I found this rad L.E.D. Dining Table on Evil Mad Scientist Dot Com.

“This is our dining table. We built it because we needed a new dining table, and I guess we’re just that kind of people. It has a frosted glass top lit by 448 multicolored LEDs that respond, in a complex and gentle fashion, to input generated by motion above the table while we eat.” How awesome is that?
