Favorite Word Art from Frieze Art Fair 2014
OK, I’m aware that Frieze Art Fair 2014 ended over two weeks ago, so I know I am little off my game on getting some substantial coverage up on the blog. But I’m a busy girl, so sue me. Last year I posted a selection of photos of my favorite Word Art from Frieze, and there was lots more of that this year, so call this an encore performance. Enjoy!
Judging from the electrical cord hanging off this one, I’d guess it lights up, though it was not lit up at this juncture.
These two seem to go together I think.
This door had a message on the other side as well, but I’ve forgotten what it was.
The images across the letters that spell out “MAGIC” are photos of buildings exploding.
Behold! The new McDonald’s Uniform!
Agreed!
First runner up on the most recent season of Survivor!
Not sure if this is art or an advertisement. Don’t care.
Just don’t.
Obviously this is some type of mathematical formula for which there are no wrong answers.
Who Cares What?
Always a good call.
What is it they say, that if you have to talk about it, it probably isn’t that case? Yeah, that.
I have no idea what’s going to happen.
But there will be more Pictures from Frieze 2014, Coming Soon!
Mobile Ski Boots from Frieze Art Fair 2014
Hey check out these awesome Mobile Ski Boots! As I was making my hit-and-run tour of Frieze Art Fair 2014 I neglected to note the name of the artist who sealed this pair of ski boots in blocks of concrete and mounted each to the base of a rolling task chair — which is too bad because, clever!
I understand that at one point these boots were strapped to the feet of a willing victim, who then rolled around on them across the exhibit floor. I wish I had seen that.
Imagine how much it would hurt if you had these things strapped on and you had really gained some speed and then you just wiped out. Wow. Instant Nose Job.
Here is a better view of the booth. If anyone knows who the artist is, please leave it in the comments, thanks!
The Cruel Shoes
After three hours of meticulously scouring the 2014 edition of the Frieze Art Fair, which took place this past weeked on Randall’s Island, NY, my feet felt very much like I had been wearing the shoes pictured above! Ouch!
Of the over 250 photos of art I shot during my visit on Sunday, this piece by Hans-Peter Feldmann, entitled Golden Shoes (exhibited in the Massimo Minini booth) is one of my favorite pieces from the show – and there were many, many favorites. Frieze 2014 is getting bit of a “Not That Great” rap this year from the reviews l’ve read so far, but I thought it was just amazing.
Watch for more photos from Frieze 2014 coming soon to Worleygig.com!
