If you’ve ever wondered what it might look like if a rainbow decided to go full-on femme fatale, look no further than this stunning modern chandelier I spotted inside a chic accessories boutique called (wait for it ) — A Little Pink! Cascading from the ceiling like a frozen firework, the fixture is composed of hundreds of crystal droplets that shift dramatically from clear at the top to a saturated, electric pink at the center — like a gemstone thundercloud gathering strength.

Modern Art Monday Presents: Cory Arcangel, Photoshop Gradient and Smudge Tool Demonstration

Cory Archangel explores the expressive potential of consumer software. With Photoshop Gradient and Smudge Tool Demonstration (20072023) he foregrounds Photoshop’s gradient tool, which fades one color into another. These two works, made 15 years apart, were created using similar commands. The contrast between the gestural dynamism of the earlier version and the minimalist geometry of its later counterpart reveals a trend towards reduction and simplification – contradicting common assumptions about technological advancement.
