The Nespresso boutique, located on southeast the corner of Prince and Mercer in Soho, really went the extra mile on their Mothers’ Day, decorating, adorning facade of the building in oversize, Pink Blossoms. Happy Mother’s Day!
It’s always fun to pop into the Patricia Field boutique, even if it’s just to check out the many colorful displays and artwork in this bi-level space that includes a downstairs hair salon. I just had to capture an image of this “Tree” made up of strings of green lights draped over a tree-like frame. Innovative!
Patricia Field is located at 306 Bowery, between Bleecker and Houston, NYC.
Italian jewelry brand Iosselliani celebrated the launch of its Holiday 2013 Capsule Collection, which is exclusive to its New York Flagship Boutique, with a fun and festive reception and showcase this past Friday evening. Designers Paolo Giacomelli and Roberta Paolucci, the power duo behind the brand, were on hand at the event to mingle and answer questions about their uniquely gorgeous designs.
But First, let’s talk about the 800 Pound Gorilla in the room.
This ceiling-high Giant White Gorilla (Associates in the store told us it was an art piece purchased in Chicago) sits at the rear of the sleek, intimate showroom and adds a cool, fun vibe to the store. It has nothing to do with the jewelry, but we could not resist photographing it for this story. Because, Giant White Gorilla.
Giacomelli and Paolucci founded Iosselliani as a way to express their creative vision while grounding it in the aesthetic of traditional Italian jewelry. In 2005 Iosselliani opened their first flagship store R-01-IOS, which is located in Rome and the second shop, T-02-IOS, opened up in the Harajuku district in Tokyo on October 24th, 2008. The NYC Boutique, located on West 29th Street adjacent to the Fashion Accessory Wholesale District, is the first Flagship store in the US.
We really loved this collection’s bold emphasis on Deco-inspired Designs.
Also, do you love Skulls? We sure do. There are several gorgeous Cameo Skull pieces in the collection, as seen below.
The series of Skull post earrings above feature gold skulls paired with various colored crystal baguettes. So gorgeous.
Iosselliani‘s seasonal but enduring fashion accessories are carefully handcrafted by professional manufacturers, blending various materials with a sparkle of Swarovski crystals and semi precious stones. The signature pieces of reworked parts of vintage jewelry turn out to bold necklaces and bracelets along with sets of stack rings.
An Associates was kind enough to model a few signature designs for our camera, such as this multi-strand chain and crystal bracelet.
These stack rings, which are sold as a set, are another iconic Iosselliani design.
Prices on the Iosselliani 2013 Holiday Jewelry Collection start at under $200 and go up to $1,000 plus, so there’s something for every budget. All of the store employees are super nice and can help you choose the perfect holiday gift for your jewelry loving friends and family.

At the end of a very exciting week that included indulgent gourmet foodie events and a Rolling Stone Magazine-sponsored concert featuring cool bands like The Sheep Dogs and Cake, we rounded out the week in fitting scenester style at a party for designer Andy Hilfiger’s Andrew Charles line of ready-to wear-Rock ‘n Roll clothing, now on display/for sale at pop-up store Riff, located at 313 Bowery in the space formerly occupied by the Morrison Hotel Gallery. The designs in this moderately priced collection – which includes T-Shirts, blouses and tops, jeans, jackets and dresses – are inspired by the very fun style of legendary Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler and his daughter, model Chelsea Tyler.
Entering the store, it was time to wax full-on nostalgic for the ’70s, as the ground-floor showroom was decorated in an old school glam rock fashion that we can only assume must have been influenced by next-door neighbor John Varvatos’ upscale rock clothing boutique (which makes its home in the space vacated by CBGB). Framing the racks of sequin-embellished tops and leopard print mini-dresses, the walls of the store were adorned with one-of-a-kind rock paraphernalia (especially loved a framed collection of Ramones’ Gold Cassette Awards, plaques, photos and CDs that most likely belonged to Marky Ramone) and a sizable number of large canvas portraits of Rockers that are part of The Smoking Series by artist Michael H. Most of these assemblage paintings are new additions to the series since we visited the exhibit this past summer. Great work, Michael!
This was definitely a see-and-be-seen event. It was fun to catch up with pals like Ken Scrudato, Scarlet Rowe, Dennis Dunaway and Vera Ramone King, but there were also lots of stars old and new in the crowd. Or course, once Steven Tyler arrived, the swarm of photographers was enough to get (literally) swept away in! Downstairs, the former CBGB’s Lounge was packed wall to wall with partiers while Andy Hilfiger’s band, Hired Killers, Inc. rocked and knocked everyone on their asses with their awesome tunes! The biggest surprise of the night came when Steven Tyler joined Hired Killers on stage for spot-on renditions of “Mama Kin” and the blues standard Aerosmith made their own on their self-titled debut, “Train Kept a Rollin.” Insane! The place was so dense with bodies that it wasn’t until we got home and checked our FaceBook news feed that we realized we’d missed seeing a ton of friends in the crowd, but it sounded like everyone had fun!
