Paul McCartney Gets a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Paul McCartney Gets a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hollywood, Ca. February 10, 2012 – 50-plus years and counting of breaking boundaries and making history and Paul McCartney shows no sign of slowing. In a historic week in Los Angeles that began with the release of his brand new album Kisses On The Bottom (Hear Music/Concord) and will culminate in his appearance at the 54th annual Grammy Awards, Paul found time for two landmarks in one day on Thursday, February 9. First, in a ceremony that drew a traffic-stopping throng on Vine Street, Paul accepted his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After a heartfelt dedication from Neil Young, Paul’s star was unveiled in its rightful place next to those of fellow Beatles John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr (and in close proximity to Buddy Holly!).

Hours later, Paul performed the bulk of Kisses On The Bottom live from Capitol Studios streamed exclusively on iTunes. The once in a lifetime performance plus excerpts from the events of the day can be streamed on demand exclusively for a limited time on iTunes (iTunes.com/PaulMcCartney). Tonight Paul will receive the MusiCares Person Of The Year award for his contributions to the worlds of music and philanthropy. Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Tony Bennett, Norah Jones, Duane Eddy, Neil Young and many more will perform numbers from Paul’s unparalleled catalogue, with a finale featuring Paul himself.

Sunday night, February 12, Paul will conclude this incredible week with a climactic performance at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, where Paul McCartney & Wings’ Band On The Run is nominated in the Best Historical Album category.

And I must add that Paul must have recently undergone an additional assload of plastic surgery, because he looks fucking amazing.
