Gail and Geoffrey’s Excellent Gay Pride Adventure!

Wonder Woman Costume from Met Superheroes Exhibit

This weekend was Gay Pride here in NYC, and Geoffrey and I celebrated by having a ridiculously fun Sunday adventure that will heretofore be known as “The Gayest Day Ever.” Just because it sounds more fun that way!

First, I picked up Geoffrey at his apartment and we traveled uptown by train and bus (experiencing excellent Mass Transit Karma) to 5th Avenue and 82nd street, arriving at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Unless you have ADD, you might recall that I have already blogged about The Met at least three times in the past week, because it is so awesome. Our first stop at the Met was to hit the roof garden for my second viewing in three days of the Jeff Koons sculpture exhibit, Koons on the Roof. A Few Things That Kept Me From Blowing My Brains Out Last Week

This Week Sucks

Last Week was certainly quite far from being the best week of my very long life. Between the stress of my father being on death’s door out in California, the thundering re-occurrence of my chronic jaw pain and the continually-evolving myriad of daily problems afflicting Worley gig.com, resulting apparently from

2. Updating to the latest version of WordPress (Recommendation: Avoid if possible)
It occurred to me off and on during the week how awesome it would be to just go to sleep and never wake up. Continue reading A Few Things That Kept Me From Blowing My Brains Out Last Week

Things to do in New York City On The Roof of the MET

Night Shot

I’ve previously blogged about seeing artist Jeff Koons’ work at the LA County Museum of Art this past May, so you can bet your sweet ass I’ll be making a stop at The Metropolitan Museum of Art this weekend to check out their much-blogged-about new exhibit Koons on the Roof. Here’s a review from the New York Times which has a few pictures to give you an idea of the scale of the exhibit. Although I believe only three sculptures are included, none of them have been on public display before, plus the view of the city alone is worth the price of admission (it’s $20, though I’ll be using my work ID to get in for free). And I understand the roof has a bar where you can get a special “Jeff Koons Martini.” So the question is, how could you stay away, really? Koons on the Roof runs through October 26th, 2008, weather permitting.

Top Ten Fun Things About My Trip to California That I Did Not Blog About Yet

Tar Pits

1. Sue and I were walking to the fancy Marie Calendars restaurant to have a delicious lunch before going to the LA County Museum of Art (LACMA) when I mentioned to her that, “Gee, it really smells like tar out here.” She then pointed out that we were, in fact, walking directly across the street from The La Brea Tar Pits. Funny! But seriously, that shit smells like tar. Continue reading Top Ten Fun Things About My Trip to California That I Did Not Blog About Yet
