On This Date, August 8th in 1996: Kiss was performing at the Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati on their reunion tour when a fan threw a prosthetic leg onstage. The band signed the limb and handed it back to the fan. Rock & Roll!

I hate to give an arrogant blowhard like Simmons any kind of publicity, no matter how far removed from the source, but this Gene Simmons Bento Box sort of rates as art, doesn’t it? So, it goes on the blog. Susan Yuen of Hawaii’s Bento Box Cookbook made this Gene Simmons box lunch from chicken, rice and seaweed. Appropriately, the tongue is made of baloney.

On This Date, October 30th in 1978: KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park, the made-for-TV movie starring KISS premiered on NBC. Despite the poor reviews, the film has attained a cult status. I remember watching this piece of crap with my parents in the same room and being beyond embarrassed by how bad it was and by the collectively shitty acting job KISS did. Today, it would probably be hilarious fun to watch with a gang of your forty-something friends, depending on how wasted you were. Actually, I’m putting that activity on my “To Do” list right now.
