I’ve been aware of the Japanese Pop Culture Quest for World Domination that is Hello Kitty for at least 30 years. Hello Kitty is like Starbucks and McDonalds I guess: it’s just everywhere and we’re powerless to stop it. Personally, being several decades over the age of six, Hello Kitty has little effect on my mental state or the manner in which I live my life. Not so much for the creator of Hello Kitty Hell, a pretty fucking fantastic website blog run by a guy whose wife (and I’m assuming she’s at least in her thirties) is completely and thoroughly obsessed with all things Hello Kitty. Running the hilariously entertaining Hello Kitty Hell blog is evidently his source of release from a 24-7-365 Hello Kitty existence that is his own personal living hell. But I guess it’s cheaper than divorce, and a lot funnier, too.

Delicious Sandwich of The Day: McSurf and Turf
The McSurf and Turf is a succulent McDonald’s Filet O’ Fish sandwich nestled on top of a juicy Quarter Pounder with Cheese, with the Quarter Pounder’s top bun removed, giving it a sort of club sandwich presentation, not unlike that of the Big Mac. Which reminds me, how awesome is that new Filet O’ Fish Commercial with the singing fish? “Give me back that Filet O’ Fish. Give me that fish . . .” Hilarious. I could watch it over and over.

McDonald’s Quarter Pounder Sandwich Arrives in Japan, Gets Own Restaurant
According to Blogger Neil Duckett, the Quarter Pounder sandwich has not yet been introduced to the menu at McDonald’s restaurants in Japan. However, McDonald’s recently opened restaurants simply called Quarter Pounder – without the McDonald’s name or familiar Golden Arches logo – in two Japanese cities. Quarter Pounder restaurants look more like pricey martini bars than fast food joints, and they sell only two menu items: the Quarter Pounder with Cheese and the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Cruise on over to the official Quarter Pounder Website and enjoy all of its minimalist splendor!
