Spotted in the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures exhibition From Barbie to Anna Karenina, this stunning Pink Flamingo Mailbox proves that even in Barbieland, the mail delivery is committed to the aesthetic. Used as a prop outside Barbie’s home in the 2023 blockbuster, the mailbox is less about bills and more about vibes  —cheerful, surreal, and joyfully practical. On the Houston Street-facing wall of the First Street Green Art Park, street artist T0newash has created a striking mural paying tribute to Kids, Larry Clark’s raw 1995 coming-of-age film. The piece recreates the movie’s original poster, featuring Rosario Dawson, Leo Fitzpatrick , Justin Pierce, and Chloë Sevigny in their breakout roles.

Zombies Documentary Movie Poster Mural, East Village

While out for a neighborhood walk on Juneteenth, I stumbled upon a spectacular find: a gorgeous and very groovy mural has appeared on the wall outside Berlin Under A, one of the East Village’s last remaining live‑music venues. Created by artist  Jane Beaird, the visually striking work is a spot-on recreation (complete with the  band’s iconic imagery and typography) of the movie poster for Hung Up On A Dream, the recently-released, career-spanning documentary on 60s pop legends The Zombies. Talk about a trip!
