Sweetwater and Gibson Report Theft of Limited-Edition Gibson Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul Custom Silverburst Guitars

On October 30, 2020, a pallet of new Gibson Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul Custom Silverburst Guitars was stolen from a Sweetwater Music truck at the Flying J Travel Center in Whiteland, IN. The truck was en route to Fort Wayne, IN, the headquarters of Sweetwater Sound. “Somehow out of a truck full of guitars, this one pallet was singled out and stolen at a truck stop,” says Sweetwater Chief Supply Chain and Merchandising Officer Phil Rich. Totaling close to $95,000 in guitars, Rich believes that the perpetrator(s) knew exactly what to look for and when.

Singer Eric Scealf of the rock group The Unsatisfied is offering a cash reward of $500 for the return of a microphone that was used by deceased punk icon Lux Interior (1946-2009) of The Cramps. Scealf was given the microphone after a show in Atlanta during The Cramp’s 1995 Flamejob Tour. “I used that mic for a few shows after I got it, just because it had Lux’s mojo on it.

Nightmares For A Week Band Live an Actual Nightmare!

On Monday April 18th, while on tour with the band Aficionado in Cincinnati, OH, roots-punk band Nightmares For A Week awoke to a real life nightmare: their van had been broken into. The passenger side window was smashed and $8,000 worth of gear was gone. Adding insult to injury; all of the band member’s bags and personal possessions were stolen as well (luggage, GPS, iPod). The band has posted pictures of the gear that was stolen on their Facebook page (http://facebook.com/nightmaresforaweek) so if you live in the Cincinnati  area, please take a look at the local pawn shops and keep an eye out for the gear.

I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it many times again before I shuffle off this mortal coil, that certain degrees of stealing are easily just as bad as murder. It’s pretty crazy that in the same week we saw Shepard Fairey acquitted of copyright infringement, we have a sort of “reverse appropriation” in a situation that was just brought to my attention by Geoffrey of According2G.com.
