I Always Feel Like Somebody’s Watching Me

Nothing gets your attention quite like the bald head of what was likely once part of what’s euphemistically referred to as a ‘blow-up doll’ peering up at you from a table full of fancy scarves being sold on 6th Avenue. Yes, I just typed that. Originally, I thought this was just a garden-variety mannequin head, which would have been less weird, but the eyes and mouth are much too realistic for that. Creepy, for sure, but an effective retail display nonetheless. After all, Halloween is just around the corner.

Pink Thing of The Day: Pink Water Tower

Ah, a pink-hued water tower, what a pleasant object to spot on the skyline. I shot these photos from the 9th floor patio of the Flag Art Foundation, which is located at 545 West 25th Street (Between 10th and 11th Avenues), so this tower is also going to be somewhere on the south side of West 25th Street, in that same block.

Geoffrey and I were walking north on Avenue A after having brunch at Yuca Bar when I noticed this lady walking directly in front of me wearing an eyeball print skirt! OMG! I tried to snap her photo while we were waiting at the light — because, Eyeball Skirt — but then the light changed and she took off. I got this shot while she sped away from me thanks to my zoom lens! Then, when she stopped to walk into a bar, I got the shot below.
