Segafredo Zanetti: Espresso, Cocktails and More!

Tiramisu Martini, Anyone? (This and Interior Shot Courtesy of Susan Blonde PR. All Other Food Photos By Anne Raso)
Hot Town, summer in the City – no Manhattanite will deny that our blissfully brutal summer weather has officially landed. We were seeking respite from last week’s hazy, hot and humid trifecta when we stumbled upon the newly opened Segafredo Zanetti Espresso Café and decided that an early evening cocktail might be just the ticket to provide relief on several levels.
Just a few minutes after being quickly seated in the very welcoming retro-modern space, the enticing aromas of fine Northern Italian cuisine, and an extensive menu boasting a variety of comestibles from traditional Italian antipasto to Custom Meat & Cheese plates, Muscles, Burgers and Steaks had us thinking about ordering dinner.

Mihoko’s 21 Grams: Franco-Japanese Cuisine in a Renaissance Setting

All Photos by Francesco Tonelli
Here at The Worley Gig, we like nice things. And we are always ecstatic with gratitude when writing this blog affords us the opportunity to enjoy nice things, which we can then share with you. Last night we were invited to attend a cocktail party celebrating the grand opening of a new restaurant in the Flat Iron district, called Mihoko’s 21 Grams. Mihoko is a Japanese restaurateur (and former ballerina) and 21 Grams is her first restaurant venture in New York City. In case you missed the 2003 movie starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts, “21 Grams” refers to the supposed weight of a human soul. So, is this place soulful? I would say so. Andy Warhol Chocolate Bars!
I love chocolate, and apparently the late, great Andy Warhol was a lifelong fan of the sweet stuff as well. Now, in homage to the Pioneer of Pop Art, Praim Group – a food licensing, marketing and distribution company – has secured an agreement with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc., to create and distribute a line of all-natural chocolate bars featuring the likeness of the globally famous Artist on its wrappers.
With four different designs, each wrapper also boasts one of Warhol’s famous quotes including, “All I Ever Really Want is Sugar,” “Everybody Must Have a Fantasy,” “The Idea of Waiting for Something Makes it More Exciting” and the artist’s arguably best known and definitely most misquoted saying, “In the Future Everybody Will Be World Famous for 15 Minutes.” The 3.5 ounce, all-natural “Chocolate Andy Bars,” available in both dark and milk chocolate, are an ideal collectible and perfect gift for any art fan!
Distribution outlets are still being acquired, so I can’t say how soon this edible chocolate collectible will be available at your neighborhood supermarket or specialty shop, but in the meantime the Andy Bars can be purchased for $5 each! Andy Warhol!
Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer: All You Need for a Colorful Summer!
One of my favorite things about summer is wearing my sandals as often as possible so I can rock a pedicure featuring the most vibrant Hot Pink nail color I can find. If you were fortunate enough to get a peek inside my bathroom cabinet, you would see a shelf stocked with various shades of pink, purple, magenta and fuchsia shades of nail color in sparkly and mat finishes — because even though I like to dwell in the pink domain, I do like to change it up. Pink. Nail Polish. I am all about it. Continue reading Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer: All You Need for a Colorful Summer!
