This rather fabulous simulated likeness of myself was sent to me this past week from a “friend” who has owed me a considerable amount of money for over a decade. While he has successfully avoided any discussion of ever repaying me (and, trust me, I am not holding my breath), he occasionally snags photos from my social media accounts and does crazy things to them with photoshop, sending me the resulting images for my amusement and pacification, I suppose. While it seems unlikely that I will ever see that long-gone cash, perhaps one day my debtor will be a famous artist and I can say I own some of his original NFTs.

LA-based drummer and superstar drum tech Mike Fasano and I have been friends for over 20 years. Mike is a very generous and fun person and he’s introduced me to so many other cool drummers who have then become friends. He’s always about paying it forward, which why Everyone Loves Mike Fasano! Here I am with Mike this past week, backstage at Pier 17 after his awesome band Tiger Army played a super-tight set of rockin’ tunes. Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s Summertime!
Wow, it looks like this fabulous Gig of mine, which started out life as a print column back in the ‘90s — when I was still interviewing Rock Stars at a pretty steady clip — is closing in on (nearly) two full decades of me bringing my own brand of special radness to the Webiverse. Worleygig launched on June 10th way back in 2003! It has been sweet ride.

While it was sad to say goodbye to Geoffrey, as he returned home to Los Angeles after a fun-filled week visiting me here in NYC, we added countess memories to our already bountiful cache of G and G Adventures and random good times! Here we are skipping to the front of the line at the Basquiat: King Pleasure exhibit, which you will be reading more about soon right here on The ‘Gig!

My best friend Geoffrey is visiting me from LA, and we have been rampaging through NYC like crazy art fans since he touched down last Wednesday evening. Here we are on the roof deck of Deutsche Bank Center at Columbus Circle. The World is Our Oyster.
