Porter Contemporary is currently hosting We’ll Be Happier Tomorrow, the gallery’s first solo exhibition of new paintings by Lori Larusso — which I stopped by over the weekend and found to be completely charming.

It has been suggested that this is what Pot-flavored ice cream goes through on a daily basis. But what I want to know is, does this image look familiar to anyone else?
My pal Lisa over at Skulls & Bacon just turned me on to the joys of The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck. According to the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, this purveyor of cold and creamy sweet delights will be in the Union Square vicinity until 6:00 PM this evening, so I m planning on a visit after work. Lisa was raving about the caramelized bacon and chocolate ice-cream sandwich, but I think I may have to go for a Vanilla Soft Serve with Dulce de Leche and Nilla Wafers. Heaven on a cone!
You are probably not even going to believe this, but I went outside just now to take a walk to the CVS with my co-worker, Chantale, and when we were walking back to the office there was a Mister Softee truck parked right at the curb! Holy frozen goodness, Batman; there is surely nothing quite like enjoying your first Mister Softee cone of the season while sitting on a sun-warmed park bench, being caressed by the breeze coming off the Hudson. Today is a good day.
