Video Clip of The Week: “Abandoned” by Prevrat
Update: Sadly, this video is no longer online. However, you can still download the album for free at the updated Bandcamp link, below.
While there are what feel and sound like Eastern European sensibilities in the music of Post-punk/electronic artist Prevrat (aka Ric Gordon), he is actually from right here in the US – Kansas to be exact. I like the arty, sci-fi images in the video for “Abandoned” that complement the music’s mix of techno elements and melodic, soft rock. At it’s core, “Abandoned” is an exercise in minor chord moodiness that reminds me favorably of 80s post-punk bands like Tears For Fears.
“Abandoned” is from Prevrat’s sophomore album, Symbols, which is available for Name Your Price Download from Bandcamp.com at This Link. Enjoy!
