As a fun and innovative way to celebrate the 2022 Holiday Season, the Museum of the City of New York invited top bakeries and amateur bakers from across the city to enter Gingerbread New York City: the Great Burrough Bake-Off – the museum’s first-ever holiday event aimed at honoring the communities in each of the five boroughs. Select bakers created their own unique gingerbread display to represent their respective neighborhoods, inspired by the theme Winter in New York. A group of prominent New York City-based bakers, curators, and restaurant owners judged the final designs.

This September will mark the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In commemoration, the AKC and Museum of the Dog will honor the Search and Rescue Dogs that participated in the 9/11 rescue and recovery efforts by sponsoring an art contest for which everyone is encouraged to participate, no matter your age or artistic ability.

The Must-Dos: The winner will have to watch three (3) movies with their best friends, and then complete a task sheet.
The Optional Dos: Decorate, get matching jammies, hang some balloons — this is your party and the options are endless. If you’re lazy and plan on turning off the lights so your friends don’t see the mess around you, that’s cool, too!
The Perks:  US Dish will dish out $2,000 to the winner of the Dream Job, and they’ll also pay for all streaming access, and a video conferencing tool. You’ll also receive a Swag Bag (worth over $200) full of heart-shaped candies, snacks, a warm blanket, empowerment books, and more. But wait, there’s more: the host and their friends will be provided with a delivery dining credit as well! Mangia!

Being a bit of a foodie, but also someone who is not very experimental when it comes to my own cooking, the thing I miss most since NYC went into lockdown is eating a variety of foods. Fortunately, there are many tasty frozen food options (especially when you are looking for breakfast foods that are different, tasty, and also convenient) and one of my favorite discoveries is Bantam Bagels stuffed bagel bites. I was first turned-on to  Bantam Bagels delicious mini stuffed-bagels at the Summer Fancy Food Show in 2018, where I was blown away by the innovative taste of oven- toasted bagels stuffed with scrambled eggs and cheese.
