Street artist Ivan Orama is at it again, depicting polarizing celebrities and controversial public icons as McDonalds Restaurant’s clown mascot, Ronald McDonald. Previous victims have included Kim and Kanye, Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson, so it was only a matter of time until candidate for the GOP Presidential nomination, Donald Trump (a clown if there ever was one) received the Ivanorama treatment.

While Lucas Samaras’s Doorway is billed as a “Mirrored Room,” it isn’t actually a room that you can enter, as you can, say, a Mirrored Room installation by Yayoi Kusama. It is really more of, well, a Doorway: a Mirrored Cube inside of a Mirrored Shell that is open on the front and back ends, to allow view through. When I viewed this work at Pace Gallery on the final day of its exhibition, the open ends were roped off to prevent anyone from touching, walking on or accessing the work close up. Bummer. People say to me all the time, “Gail, where do you find the amazing Pink Things you put on your blog?” And I say to them: “I find the everywhere!” This pair of Taxidermy White Rats driving a Hot Pink Sports Car (yes, I just typed that) was spotted in the gift shop at the Morbid Anatomy Museum in Brooklyn. I did not ask if it was actually for sale.
