Worleygig.com wishes all of our readers the very best for the coming year! For our part, we promise to continue to bring you the most amazing coverage in the realms of Art and Design, Humor, Pop Culture, Assorted Absurdness, Food Reviews, Cuteness, Bacon, and Things that are Pink! Let’s make it the best year ever!
Well, it’s June 10th again and that means it’s time to chalk up another banner year here at the Worley Gig, where today we are celebrating Eleven (11!) solid years of Web Dominance! Hurray for us! This past year has seen The Gig give pause to its competition with our unequalled coverage of Art, Bacon and Things that are Pink, as well as Food and Restaurant Reviews, consciousness-expanding coverage of Design and Lifestyle topics and our wildly popular new music series, Video Clip of the Week (which just turned one year old)! I can’t believe how much we rule!
Of course, we could not have achieved this level of success without all of our dedicated and enthusiastic readers. Thanks as always for all of your support, your faithful readership, for Tweeting and Posting our links via your social media outlets, and of course for your fun and insightful comments. Cheers to another great year!
Well, it’s all over but the shouting. We had a lot of entries and many top contenders in the lead for most of the month of March, as fans left hilarious and insightful comments on blog posts old and new in Worleygig’s first ever Comment Contest, but there is certainly nothing shocking about the fact that our winner is Alice Cooper Fan Donna Shocka! Donna commented on the blog 30 times last month, beating out her closest competitor, Jim Ford, by 15 comments! Donna Shocka! Donna wins her choice of two T-shirts from The Neatoshop and the undying gratitude of The Worley Gig for all time! Congratulations Donna on your well-earned victory and thanks to everyone who participated!
Attention fans and fiends, from today through the final day of March 2012, Worleygig.com will be having a contest where you can win fabulous prizes. 1. Comments must be at least one sentence long (Single word comments such as “Nice!” will not qualify as an entry).
2. Only one qualifying comment per post, per commenter, will count as an entry.
3. Comments must be relevant to the post.
4. You must register as a commenter with a valid email address so that you can be contacted in the event that you win.
5. Winner will be chosen at random from qualified entries received.
6. Only Comments posted to the Actual Blog Page (Not FaceBook Fan Page) will count as an entry.
Prizes — your choice of one of the two T Shirts seen here — will be provided by The Neatoshop! Become my Fan on FaceBook for contest updates and to never miss your opportunity to comment and win! Ready? Go!
September 24th is the Birth date of the late Jim Henson, best known for creating and voicing many of the beloved Muppet characters. Today, Google remembers what would have been Jim’s 75th Birthday with a very cool (and interactive) Home Page Doodle, seen above (Hint: click on the colorful “hand” buttons, from left to right, under each Muppet icon for a fun surprise). The Google Blog also has a very endearing remembrance of Jim written by his son Brian, which you can read at This Link. Happy Birthday, Jim!
In my tightly-knit circle of music industry friends and fiends, Marc Schapiro is a guy I have known for a very long time. From his gigs as a publicist for various metal labels to his independent entrepreneurial undertakings, Marc always rocks 24/7. One of Marc’s recent projects is his new blog, Bacon Jew Blogspot, where he posts lots of fun photos and news about being a Jew who loves bacon. He also sells T-Shirts and bacon fashions from the site. Marc is awesome, so please visit his blog right now and show the Bacon Jew some sweet and smoky love.

Wow, it’s hard to believe that Worleygig.com has been infecting the web with excessive Radness for five whole years as of June 10th, 2008! And yet, it’s true! Thanks to everybody who reads this thing for your support over the past half decade, and please be assured that we will continue to rock the party as best we can for another five decades into the future!
I read the Post Secret blog every Sunday morning. Today they had this movie posted on the site and asked readers to share it on their own blogs, so I am doing that now. Have a beautiful Sunday everyone.
