Here at ‘The Gig, we are having a bit of a Spring Fling, as NYC transitions from one cold, wet season to a different but almost equally cold, wet season! Why is spring in this part of the country so freaking cold? I am already over it, as the kids say! As I do whatever I can to keep the fantasy of warmer weather alive in my head, please enjoy this week’s Pink Thing: a sculpture of Winnie The Pooh’s best pal of Piglet made entirely of beautiful pink floral blooms! HomerBob: The Homer Simpson SpongeBob MashUp Mural On Stanton Street
I’ve been noticing this mural out the window of the M15 SBS bus as it speeds up Allen Street during my journey home from work on selected evenings. From the look of it, I assumed this was just a mural of Homer Simpson’s face peaking out from the side of a building on Stanton Street. But on closer inspection, it proved to be much more.

I am here to tell you that you will have lots of fun perusing the results of a Google search with the terms: Oversized Plush Creature With a Cheeseburger Head. What is this thing? I spotted these two Ladies keeping company with the Cheeseburger-headed creature of unknown origin from across the platform while I waited for the F Train at the 42nd Street/Bryant Park station.
