This past week I had the chance to make my first visit to the newly-opened Little Island Park, which is located on the Hudson River at Pier 55, between 13th and 14th Streets, and accessible via a concrete pier. The park is open from 6 AM to 1 AM and free tickets can be booked at the link above. Note that tickets are not required to enter the park between 6 AM and 12 Noon, so considering the demand is currently quite high, it might be a good idea to plan a trip to Little Island for the morning hours. TATS CRU Presents The Mural Kings at the Houston Bowery Wall
Well, if you haven’t had a chance too see the above iteration of the Houston Bowery Mural Wall, it’s officially too late, because the colorful piece, by Bronx-based graffiti consortium, Tats Cru, was painted over during the Memorial Day Weekend. A Visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden!
It was a complete accident that Geoffrey and I ended up making a pit stop at the gorgeous Brooklyn Botanic Garden as part of a recent trip to visit the Brooklyn Museum. It wasn’t until we were on the train that I noticed (for the first time, ever) that the Eastern Parkway Stop off the 2 and 3 is also the stop for the BBG, so I suggested to Geoffrey that we “See how far away it is from the museum” once we got out of the subway. What we discovered, much to our ecstatic delight, is that the Garden is literally right next to the Museum. It could not possibly have been more conveniently located. Even better, Geoffrey’s work ID card got us in for free, and since we had no strict agenda to follow, we spent over an hour exploring nature as a prelude to some hardcore, art-viewing action. It was an amazing day!
Must See Seattle Attraction: Chihuly Garden and Glass

Persian Ceiling Gallery, All Photos By Gail
Sometimes, you can see something so beautiful that it invades your imagination forever. I have been a fan of Glass Artist Dale Chihuly for years, but have never seen a comprehensive exhibit of his large scale works in person until I had the opportunity to visit Chihuly Garden and Glass during my recent stay in Seattle. While it is inarguably a beautiful city with innumerable natural attractions and tourist destinations, if you can visit only one notable spot on a trip to Seattle, go to Chihuly Garden and Glass. This place will completely and totally blow your mind and it is absolutely unlike any attraction you can see anywhere else.
