I was at a flea market downtown when I became enchanted by this Hot Pink, Lucite Mannequin Hand that was being used as a display for rings by a fun jewelry vendor. Luckily, the vendor (IG @dollybabyofficial) let me remove the rings so that I could photograph the hand for the blog — what a sweetheart.

Yes, I know it’s way too early for Christmas but I could not resist showing you these delicate, ice Pink Hamsa Hand tree ornaments by Cody Foster & Co, the same people who make the highly collectible David Bowie Ornaments that I wrote about last December. In the months between now and the holiday season, perhaps you can find other uses for them in your home decor, such as hanging one above a home alter?

Furniture designer Misha Kahn’s work exists at the intersection of design and sculpture, exploring a wide variety of media and scales. Kahn’s approach melds an array of processes, from casting, carving, welding and weaving, to imaginative and singular modes of production. The last time I can recall entering an art exhibit that completely transported me to another world, I think I was here, or even here. So, yeah, it’s been a while. I nearly missed Madonna — not the pop star, but the first solo exhibition of work by The Haas Brothers — at Marianne Boesky Gallery, but I made a special trip after work just a few days before the exhibit closed on October 26th, because I knew, if the photos I’d seen were any indication, that I’d regret not having the opportunity to experience this whimsical group of flora and fauna in person. Even better: I had the gallery all to myself!
