The Metropolitan Museum of Art has a couple of installations by Icelandic artist Katrin Sigurdardottir on exhbit through March 6, 2011, for which I enthusiastically recommend taking a brief excursion over to the Modern Art Wing (north and south mezzanine galleries) to check out if you happen to be at the museum. The exhibit consists of a pair of site-specific installations that re-create two of the Met’s eighteenth-century French period rooms known as boiseries from the Hôtel de Crillon and the Hôtel de Cabris. The one above can be viewed through one-way mirrors while the other (Image Below) can be physically entered. Both are very cool and kind of spooky, which I like.

Modern and innovative home design gets my attention every time. I love this egg rug where the yolks serve as head cushions – perfect for lounging on the floor and watching TV in true comfort. Eggstatic!
I honestly can’t recall ever watching more than one or two episodes, let alone an entire season, of any Showtime series ever in my life. Because I’m really more of an HBO gal. But Metropolitan Home’sShowtime House, a newly renovated town home located in NYC’s exclusive Gramercy Park neighborhood (my dentist has his office there) where each room is decorated to thematically tie-in with a popular Showtime series, has me intrigued to maybe rent the past few seasons of Dexter on DVD. Because, man, that dining room is just rad.
