The modern workplace is constantly evolving, and the office environment should evolve with it. As teams grow, technology advances, and client expectations shift, the spaces we work in can quickly become outdated or inefficient. Taking time to periodically reassess your workspace helps ensure it continues to support the way your business operates and the people who keep it running.

Investing in office improvements does more than update appearances—it can boost productivity, strengthen company culture, and enhance employees’ day-to-day experience. Even small changes, from rethinking layouts and upgrading furniture to improving lighting, hygiene, and technology, can have a meaningful impact. With a thoughtful, strategic approach, every upgrade can contribute to a healthier, more efficient workplace built for long-term success.

At this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), one of the softest and most dreamlike lighting designs I encountered was the Eos Sante table lamp by Umage. The lamp combines a slender, almost impossibly delicate stem with a broad circular base, creating a silhouette that feels both airy and grounded. But the real showstopper is the shade — a voluminous cloud of feathers that immediately brought to mind the puffball top of a dandelion moments before it drifts into the wind.

Founded by celebrated sculptor Isamu Noguchi, the Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum is revisiting one of the artist’s most daring and debated exhibitions with Light and Stone: Revisiting Noguchi’s 1986 Venice Biennale, on view now through September 13, 2026. The archival exhibition commemorates the fortieth anniversary of Noguchi’s groundbreaking presentation at the 1986 Venice Biennale, where he became the first solo artist to represent the United States in the U.S. Pavilion.

Eye On Design: Floating Color – Jorge Pardo’s Lightworks at Petzel Gallery

I keep a fairly extensive archive of photos from the past two decades spent exploring the city’s galleries. Time has a way of slipping by before I can feature something I love in what might be considered a timely manner — but there’s no rule against circling back to a standout piece that still feels worth sharing.

Case in point: these luminous, candy-colored chandeliers, which  have been were replaced by a different lighting installation since I first spotted them two summers ago at Petzel Gallery on West 25th Street. They’ve lingered in my memory ever since — impossible to forget and far too striking to leave unseen. Now feels like the right moment to finally give them their due: glowing sculptures that read like a constellation, hovering somewhere between chandelier, artwork, and dream.
