At this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), one of the softest and most dreamlike lighting designs I encountered was the Eos Sante table lamp by Umage. The lamp combines a slender, almost impossibly delicate stem with a broad circular base, creating a silhouette that feels both airy and grounded. But the real showstopper is the shade — a voluminous cloud of feathers that immediately brought to mind the puffball top of a dandelion moments before it drifts into the wind.

Eye On Design: Ellsworth Lamp By Hannah Bigeleisen
Sometimes a lamp is more than just lighting — it’s sculpture, tribute, and design statement all in one. That’s exactly what drew my attention to the Ellsworth Lamp when I first encountered it at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in 2023.
Designed by Brooklyn-based artist and designer Hannah Bigeleisen, the Ellsworth Lamp represents a pivotal moment in her creative practice. Originally trained as a sculptor, Bigeleisen began experimenting with functional objects, and the Ellsworth became one of her first lighting designs — a piece that bridges the worlds of fine art and everyday utility. Eye On Design: Andy Warhol Campbell’s Soup Can Skate Decks
When Andy Warhol first turned Campbell’s Soup cans into art in the early 1960s, he collapsed the distance between the grocery store aisle and the gallery wall. Decades later, that same image continues to slip easily into new cultural spaces — including skate culture. One of the most compelling examples of this crossover appeared at ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) in 2018, where The Skateroom presented its licensed Andy Warhol Soup Can Skateboard Decks as collectible design objects.

Eye On Design: Bling Industrial Garbage Bin By Arlo Walker
I Could Have Been a Dolphin is a modern sculpture designed and realized by Arlo Walker in 2022. Consisting of a 65 -gallon, industrial-size trash bin completely covered with tiny reflecting crystals, this work was part of a larger exhibit of design student projects entitled Utopia, which was on display at the 2022 edition of Wanted Design at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). What follows is the manifesto presented with the exhibit to which this eye-catching sculpture belongs.
The title of this exhibition, Utopia, is an irony; each piece confronts, the realization that our civilization is anything but utopian. Indeed, the sociopolitical infrastructure of our world spells dystopia –- a place where the values of fulfillment, health, and wealth appear all but unattainable. The pieces in this exhibition reflect a disillusionment with the very concept of utopia; the past, present, and future equal equally convey an image of injustice and hardship.

Pink Thing of The Day: Molo Design’s Softwall in Pale Pink
Softwall by Molo Design is a sculptural, modular space divider that transforms environments with fluidity and elegance. Constructed from durable, lightweight paper or textile materials, the Softwall expands and contracts like an accordion, offering a dynamic and flexible approach to interior partitioning. I’ve been wanting to cover this design here for ages and now is the perfect time, as I spotted this in Pink at ICFF in 2024! When rendered in a delicate pale pink color, this innovative piece takes on an entirely new dimension — one that is both ethereal and sophisticated.
