Corey Helford Gallery Presents Ron English’s NeoNature Exhibit at New Space in Downtown LA!

While I was in LA for Christmas, I had the chance to not only have a VIP experience at the new Broad Museum (more about that in a future post) but also got to visit the nearby new location of the Corey Helford Gallery, which just re-opened in early December! Corey Helford’s new gallery is massive — seven times larger than the original space — and boasts three separate galleries, each of which can house individual artist and group exhibitions. The main gallery, where you will find Ron English’s incredible show, NeoNature: We Are The New They, takes up 4,500 square feet, offering total immersion for attendees. And considering the size of NeoNature’s paintings and sculptures that is saying something!

New Slash Album Features Artwork by Ron English

Ron English Slash Cover Artwork

World on Fire, the new album by Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, which hits stores on September 17th will feature a brightly colored, collage design by Popaganda artist, Ron English.

English previously created the cover art for Slash’s self-titled solo album released in 2010 and he has also designed limited edition, collectible art toys inspired by the former GNR Guitarist, such as this Top Hat-Adorned Bust Sculpture. Very cool!

Ron English Presents English 101 at LA’s Post No Bills

Post No Bills Gallery and Print Shop will launch its first fall solo exhibition this Thursday October 6th, with the opening reception for English 101…For Beginners and Up  by Popaganda artist, Ron English. English 101 will feature exclusive new limited edition prints and hand-finished multiples, toys, sculptures, sticker packs and more by Ron English – one of our favorite artists here at The Gig! With prices ranging from $20 to $4,000, the exhibit offers pieces for any sized budget. Ron will be available for signings at the Opening Reception, this coming Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 7:00PM to 10:00PM. I’ve met Ron a bunch of times and he is super nice and approachable.

Ron English Brings Popaganda to His First Japanese Exhibit

Here’s some good news for anyone living in, or visiting, Tokyo, Japan between the dates of July 1st to 18th, 2011: Zac Pac Toys & Collectibles will be hosting Ron English’s first Japanese art show, entitled Popaganda in Japan. If you’ve ever been to one of Ron’s exhibits you know to expect something really far out and fantastic.

Although Ron English is one the most prolific and recognizable pop artists in the world, he’s not really a household name to people who, unlike Geoffrey and me, are not completely obsessed with art, or to anyone who has not seen Morgan Spurlock’s documentary, Supersize Me, for which English did all of the iconic artwork – including a squat, pudgy cheeked Ronald McDonald known as McSupersize.
